Reart 2015 – International Upcycle Exhibition & Book Launch
Congratulations to Brett Martin for taking out the winning prize of Reart 2015 with his 3.5m great white shark. Congratulations also to the People’s Choice Award winner Brian McNamara for his Automaphone.
About
Reart is an exhibition to inspire the world to reconsider the idea of waste. It focuses on innovation in upcycling from a selection of local and international artists.
In it’s first year running Reart will open it’s doors to the public on April 22nd to coincide with Earth Day. The exhibition will also highlight the launch of Retrash, a coffee table book showcasing the upcycled work of 82 designers and artists from 20 countries around the world. Author Nathan Devine will be signing copies of his book on Saturday 25 April from 2pm – 4pm where the winner of the People’s Choice Award will be announced.

The winner of this award will be selected by the curatorial panel and will be announced on the 21st April at launch night M2 Gallery, 450 Elizabeth Street Surry Hills NSW 2010 (invitation only event).
PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD – 2nd Place $100 Etsy Voucher, Copy of Retrash – Upcycle Repurpose Reuse Recycle, Cut&Create Glass Bottle Cutter
The winner of this award will be decided by the artworks with the highest number of votes cast by the attendees during the exhibition. The winners will be announced on the 25 April at 2pm @ the M2 Gallery, 450 Elizabeth Street Surry Hills NSW 2010.
Sale of artworks
All works in Reart 2015 will be available for sale through the exhibitors section of the Reart website (launching 21 April 2015).

Artworks will be chosen for exhibition by our panel of judges for display at the M2 Gallery, 450 Elizabeth St Surry Hills NSW.
Nathan Devine
Founder Reart, Author of RetrashNathan has been diverting waste from landfill for over 30 years, his passion for inspiring others to do the same is illustrated through his self published book Retrash – Upcycle Reuse Repurpose Recycle. Retrash showcases the upcycled work of 82 designers and artists from 20 countries around the world.
Nathan holds a diploma in Graphic Design as well as Commercial Photography. He has collaborated with hundreds of artists and designers across the globe as part of his Retrash project.
Following on from Retrash, Reart brings global upcycling concepts to mainstream media through it's first ever Sydney art exhibition.
Helen Souness

Proven as a General Manager in fast growth digital companies including Envato, running a collection of global digital marketplaces and now Managing Director in Australia for Etsy, the premier destination for handmade goods, vintage items and craft supplies.
Strong product marketing and commercial experience, from strategy and new product business cases through to successful delivery of sales and profit targets, in both consumer and business markets. Strong brand marketing experience in O2 in the UK and with leading Australian and New Zealand brand, SEEK.
Dimity Mullane
Communications / Public Programs Manager Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers BequestWith over 20 years experience in public galleries and museums specialising in publicity, branding, digital strategies, sponsorship, and audience building.
The current role is effectively marketing and communicating the Gallery's activity as well as developing a range of programs and events for site activation. These include curating large scale artisan markets, forums, workshops, educations programs, film festivals and music events.
