Retrash – Upcycle Repurpose Reuse Recycle
The first objective is to promote the growing movement of artists using materials which are considered waste in our society. Retrash aims to inspire others to purchase these original works as opposed to mass produced products made from virgin materials. All artists that have contributed to the book will have their profile promoted to an international audience to develop markets for the sale of their work.
The second objective is to reduce landfill. By showcasing the best of the upcycling movement, Retrash hopes to educate others to rethink what they currently view as being waste.
The third objective is to raise funds for two charities which Retrash currently have a sponsorship agreement with. The first charity is FINCA.org, an anti-poverty organisation. This charity is strongly promoted by FINCA Ambassador and actress Natalie Portman. The second charity is the Helen Bamber Foundation, who work together with survivors of genocide, torture, trafficking and rape who seek safety and refuge. Actress Emma Thompson is a passionate activist for the Helen Bamber Foundation.
